About KiloMate
KiloMate: Australian calorie counter, workout log and weight tracker.
- What it is
- KiloMate is an Australian app that tracks the three things people track: food (calories, kilojoules and macros), exercise (a weightlifting log) and body weight (weekly weigh-ins, waist and progress photos).
- Name
- "Kilo" covers all three: kilojoules on Australian food labels, kilos on the bar and kilos on the scale. "Mate" because it's Australian.
- Who makes it
- Sabea Tech Pty Ltd, an Australian company.
- Availability
- Free to use on the web now at kilomate.com.au/app. iPhone and Android apps are coming soon.
- Food
- Calories and kilojoules side by side, protein, carbs and fat, barcode scanning with Australian products first, recent foods and favourites, quick add, and custom foods.
- Fast food
- 686 menu items from 10 Australian chains (McDonald's, KFC, Hungry Jack's, Subway, Guzman y Gomez, Nando's, Grill'd, Oporto, Red Rooster, Domino's), with figures from each chain's published Australian nutrition information. Where a chain publishes figures for each ingredient, you can remove ingredients or swap the bun or crust and see the difference.
- Lifts
- Log sets with last time's numbers filled in and a marker when you beat them, saved and planned workouts, history, and a progress chart for each exercise.
- Body
- Weekly weight, waist and progress-photo check-ins, trend charts, side-by-side photo comparison, and targets with an estimated date.
- Data sources
- Packaged foods come from Open Food Facts, an open database (ODbL licence). Fast-food figures come from each chain's own published Australian nutrition information. KiloMate never makes up a nutrition number: if a source doesn't publish a value, it's shown as unknown.
- Australian focus
- Kilojoules and calories, metric units throughout, Australian supermarket barcodes first, Australian fast-food chains, and Australian dollar pricing.
- Principles
- One app for food, training and weight. No ads, and your data is never sold.
KiloMate gives general information only. It isn't medical or dietary advice. Talk to a GP or an Accredited Practising Dietitian about your own needs.
