KiloMate

Privacy policy

KiloMate keeps what you log so the app works, stores it in Sydney, and never sells it, shares it with advertisers or uses it for ads. This page explains the detail.

Last updated 23 October 2026.

Who we are

KiloMate is run by Sabea Tech Pty Ltd ("we", "us"), an Australian company. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). For anything about your privacy, email hello@kilomate.com.au.

What we collect

The calorie calculator works out targets on your device. The age, sex, height and weight you enter there aren't saved; only the targets you choose are.

Health information and your consent

Food, training, body measurements and photos are health information, which the law treats as sensitive. We only collect it with your consent, which you give when you first sign in. You can withdraw it at any time by deleting your account (see below).

How we use it

We don't sell your information. We don't use it for advertising, we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers, and KiloMate has no advertising or tracking scripts. We don't use your information to train AI models.

Where it's stored, and who helps us run KiloMate

Your account and everything you log are stored in Australia, in our database provider's Sydney region. A few providers help us run the service and handle some information on our behalf:

Because some of these providers operate overseas, some information (mainly your email address and technical log data) may be handled outside Australia. We only use providers with strong security, and we stay responsible for how your information is handled.

Security

Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Every record is tied to your account, and the database only lets your account read it. Progress photos are private files that are only shown to you, through short-lived links. Your sign-in session is kept on your device.

Keeping, downloading and deleting your information

We keep your information while you have an account. You can download everything at any time (in the app: Lifts, then your account, then Download my data). You can delete your account in the same place: your log, photos and account are deleted straight away. Our database backups are kept for up to 7 days, so a deleted account is fully gone from them within a week.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can see and change almost everything in the app itself. To ask for a copy of anything else we hold about you, or to correct it, email hello@kilomate.com.au. We'll reply within 30 days.

Children

KiloMate is for people aged 16 and over.

Data breaches

If a breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we'll tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, email hello@kilomate.com.au and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change matters to how your information is used, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
